As a journalist, Tripp has written extensively about real estate, personal finance, small business and entrepreneurship for The Wall Street Journal, the New York Daily News where he had his own real estate column from 2012 until 2013, Crain’s New York Business, BrickUnderground.com and Bisnow Commercial Real Estate News, and Luxury Listings NYC. In 2021, he collaborated with New York real estate developer, philanthropist, and former Metropolitan Transit Authority Chairman H. Dale Hemmerdinger on his memoir Rowing into the Wind.
He has also covered multiple aspects of pop culture, including TV, film, comedy, theater, and music for such outlets as Vanity Fair, Variety, The Hollywood Reporter, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Vulture, New York magazine, the New York Post, New York Daily News, The Los Angeles Times, TV Guide, Closer Weekly and The Boston Globe, among other places.
From 2017 until 2020, he served as the editor and senior writer for That’s Entertainment, the in-house magazine of the New York Friars Club, where he was responsible for all content and was a longtime member. Throughout his career as a result, he has conducted interviews with some of the most significant singers, actors writers, film and TV legends and media industry figures of our time.
